Can you show in English boots that are made of "a leather like material", or do they have to be real leather?
I'm looking at riding boots for my first show. Do they have to be real leather, or can the judges tell if they're fake. And is it a big deal if they are. Like whats the difference when riding?

i compete in equileather ones. they are brilliant because they don't need half as much cleaning, and they are supercheap.
you can get some great ones now that are almost impossible to tell from real leather. infact one of my hunter saddles is equileather too. 
judges don't care so long as you are neat and presentable.
