How can I be less weird?
I'm 15 and I'm into some "unusual" things, I suppose.
I'm an English speaker, but I mainly listen to Mandarin Chinese pop music.
I'm fascinated by the Peking opera, philosophy, and psychology.
My favorite hobby is THINKING. It seriously enthralls me.
I also love playing my flute, but I guess that's closer to normal.
I have trouble making friends because most kids my age are into different things than I am and they just don't seem to get me.
I guess my real question is, how can I make friends?
Oh, and I'm a female.
You don't seem weird to me at all! Be proud of who you are and how you are. When it comes time to go to college, you will be the one who will get in the good ones. Believe me, at college you'll find lots of students who have lots in common with you. Hang in there. The teen years can be hard, but one day you'll look back and think, "Wow, if only I could have those years back"...
