made in china....wtf??
the little angels called Willow Angels, they are very beautiful handcarved and painted angels with no faces that show different gestures...LOVE them. however, i always thought this woman that owns the company did them herself with help n stuff but then i saw a sticker on the bottom that said Made in China....why???
is it legal to say she handcarves them and paints them....when really its little kids in sweatshops that do?
Well it could be a few reasons. 1. She could be lying about making them herself. 2. You bought fakes as in not the real thing. 3. She has outsourced her company to China (very common now a days.). If you are referring to the Willow Tree Angles by Susan Lordi then according to her they are hand crafted and a made in china sticker is nearly unexplainable. But most likely she hand carves the original one and then has them manufactured based on her original design. Shes only one lady she can't make thousands of these by herself im sure they really are made in China.
Unfortunetly it is leagal to say she hand crafts them herself becuase no she doesn't hand craft everyone of them but she did do it for the original design and the sweatshop workers follow her design. its very unfortunate but outsorcing is cheap and effective im not defending it but thats just the way it is.
